Kamran Maskin

Kamran completed his undergraduate degree in Physiology & Pharmacology from Nottingham.

Since 2002 he has worked extensively in the pharmaceutical industry in various roles in sales and marketing and is currently the sales and marketing manager of a privately owned company, where he is part of the management team.

He has significant experience in strategy and leadership, commercialising and bringing new products to market within the NHS and retail environment. He also has good experience in business development and international business. Kamran also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Bradford.

Kamran lives in Keighley and is married with three daughters. He enjoys sports, reading and travelling.

Atiq Saddique

Born and bred in Keighley, Atiq attended local schools, and went on to graduate as a Master of Pharmacy from the University of Bradford.

He worked as a pharmacy manager in the independent sector for a number of years before recently acquiring his own pharmacy business.

He has been with Abu Zahra Foundation since it’s inception in 2001.

Azhar Hussain

Graduated with a law degree from the prestigious London School of Economics in 1997. He then went onto complete accountancy exams with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England and Wales (ACA) and currently works as an Assistant Director in Financial Advisory Services, for Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Azhar has also continued his religious studies after completing a year at Qasid Arabic language school, Jordan and continues his studies privately reading intermediate and advanced level texts in the various Islamic Sciences with local teachers.

Ithsham Tariq

Graduated in Economics and Business from Leeds, Ithsham has worked for seven years in the Public Sector in Recruitment.

He has been instrumental in his work with grassroots Islamic organisations in the region and has vast experience  in organising events with renowned Islamic scholars. He moved to Abu Zahra in 2009.

Adnan Tariq

Adnan is currently in the last year of an undergraduate degree studying Law.

He was a Board Member of Kitaba Islamic Texts for the Blind for five years since its inception. Kitaba is a charity “dedicated to empowering and promoting the growth and well-being of visually impaired Muslims and their community through meeting their religious, educational and developmental needs, thereby advancing accessibility and awareness.”

He moved to Abu Zahra Foundation in 2010 bringing with him invaluable experience from his years with Kitaba.

Majid Hussain

Majid completed his undergraduate degree in Accountancy in Bradford. After beginning his career as a civil servant, he moved on to Project Management, working predominantly in the third sector on community-based projects.

Over the last 10 years Majid has worked as a volunteer for faith institutions in Bradford and Keighley, organising educational programmes with many of the leading scholars in the West. He also pioneered one of the earliest, structured, programmes of study in the Islamic Sciences in Bradford with the Abu Zahra Foundation.

Majid has recently undertaken a postgraduate degree in Primary Education and is due to embark on a teaching career. He further gained an English Language Teaching qualification (CELTA), in the summer of 2012.

Majid has a keen interest in filming, recording and editing lectures and Qasaid.

Rashid Hussain

Rashid graduated in Law from Leicester University in 1998 and after a short period of work in Corporate Customer Relations, completed his PGCE in primary education at Leeds University. He has taught successfully in challenging state schools and is an experienced educator.

Privately, he has pursued his studies in the Islamic sciences with the scholars at Abu Zahra and other leading scholars in the UK. He is currently in the advanced stages of his studies.
