Using the six-part Iqra’ Series, written by Ustad As’ad Humam, students will be introduced to the Arabic Alphabet and vowel markings of the Uthmani script. The course is designed for the absolute beginner who cannot read the Qur’an fluently with proper pronunciation (Tajwid). The focus will be on acquiring the correct makhraj (place of origin) of each Arabic letter.
The Iqra’ course is unique because it introduces the student to the basic tajwid rules which are necessary for the proper recitation of the Qur’an. It also provides ample practice for the application of rules so that the student masters the skill before moving on to the next lesson.
The class will include some theoretical knowledge and practice in pronouncing the Arabic letters and then individual reading of Book 1 of the Iqra’ Series. Students will progress thorough the reading of the books at their individual pace. On completion of the six books, students will be able to independently read portions of the Qur’an fluently, with proper pronunciation.
Maximum 8 students per class so each student will receive the required individual attention to acquire the requisite pronunciation skills to recite the Book of Allah according to the imams of this Science.
