Our Vision

Abu Zahra Foundation aims to provide the light of traditional Islamic scholarship and spirituality, contextualised and tailored to meet the diverse educational needs of the whole community, equipping its students with sound beliefs and practice, as a means to find the Divine in all aspects of their lives.

Our Courses

Children’s Madrasa

Our Prayer Hall

The Foundation provides a beautiful place of worship in the heart of the Muslim community for men, women, and children. Jumu’ah and Tarawih prayers are led by the world-renowned Egyptian reciter, Shaykh Muhammad Shu’ayr.

Monthly Burda Event

The Abu Zahra community gathers each month to recite the famous ode in praise of the Prophet ﷺ. The Keighley Munshids and Shaykh Shu’ayr give a powerful rendition of the entire poem in the various melodies of the Muslim choral tradition. Ustadh Sulayman Shahnawaz warms our hearts with a short talk on a Prophetic theme.

Third Saturday of every month, 7pm

Explore Abu Zahra Madrasa

Our Madrasa is housed in a converted Victorian Church built in 1890. It has been exquisitely renovated maintaining many original features and architecture yet adding a distinctly Islamic physiognomy, which has been the collaborative effort of some of the finest designers and artists in the world.
